Rest & Renewal Counseling FAQs
-
Therapy is a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through conversations with a trained therapist, you’ll gain insights and develop coping strategies to improve your emotional and mental well-being. The process is collaborative, and your therapist will work with you to address your specific goals and challenges.
-
Therapy can benefit anyone who is feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or stuck, or if you’re looking to improve your overall mental health. If you’re experiencing difficulties in relationships, emotional struggles, or personal challenges, therapy can help. If you are unsure, a consultation can help determine if therapy is a good fit for your needs.
-
The first session is usually focused on getting to know you and understanding your concerns. Your therapist will ask about your background, the issues that brought you to therapy, and your goals. This is also a time to ask any questions you might have about the process, confidentiality, and how sessions are structured.

I offer an integrative, collaborative approach to therapy. I use internal family systems (IFS), ego state therapy, EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and polyvagal theory. For couples, I use the Gottman method. For premarital couples, I use the Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts (SYMBIS) approach. If you’re unsure which approach might be right for you, we can discuss your options during our consultation.

You can schedule an appointment by calling, email, or filling out the contact form on my website. My fees are based on the market rates in Grand Junction, CO. I try to make couples therapy more accessible, so my fees for that are lower than the market rate.
I do not accept insurance, but I do offer a limited number of discounted fee spots for those who are facing economic hardships due to unforeseen circumstances. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about payment or insurance.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance. This allows me to offer the time slot to another client. Cancellations with less notice may will result in the full-session fee.
